Institute for Math & AI, Wuhan (IMAI) was established in June 2023 as a research entity within Wuhan University. It is housed in the Leijun Building at Wuhan University. IMAI advanced foundational and interdisciplinary research across mathematics, statistics, computer science, and cybersecurity. The institute is committed to building a talent hub in central China, establishing an academic research center with international influence, and driving original innovation while accelerating real-world deployment through flagship, application-oriented research initiatives.

IMAI will build on Wuhan University’s established disciplinary strengths, advancing mathematics–intelligence-related fields through institutional innovation and coordinated resource integration. It will also deepen external communication and internal collaboration, closely coordinate with the School of Mathematics and Statistics, the School of Computer Science, and the School of Cyber Science and Engineering, so as to systematically advance the high-quality development of mathematics and intelligence-related disciplines.
