The Enshi Base of the Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Central China (hereinafter referred to as "Enshi Base") was officially unveiled and established in July 2025 at Hubei Minzu University. As an important component of the Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Central China, the establishment of Enshi Base has received high attention and strong support from 27 jointly built universities in the central region.
Wuhan University, as the leading supporting school of the Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Central China, provides academic support and technical support for the Enshi Base; Hubei Minzu University, as a base affiliated unit, is fully responsible for providing venues, local coordination, and logistical support.
At present, the office area of the base is temporarily located in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Hubei Minzu University. To better meet the needs of scientific research and academic exchange, the new office building of the base is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2026, with a planned total area of over 1000 square meters. The new office area will be equipped with multifunctional spaces such as expert studios, student workstations, seminar rooms, conference rooms, and multimedia lecture halls to provide support for various academic activities.
The Enshi base will provide high-quality services for national mathematics peers to hold academic conferences, training exchanges, and lectures in Enshi. At the same time, well-known professor workshops, summer schools for young teachers and doctoral students will be hold to further strengthen exchanges and interactions between universities in the central region and with universities in other regions, and promote the overall level of mathematics in the central region. In July 2025, the base successfully hosted the "First National Tianyuan Mathematics Central University Mathematics Teacher Summer School", laying a solid foundation for the subsequent normalization and high-quality academic activities.
In the future, the Enshi Base will continue to enhance its platform functions, expand exchanges and cooperation, and strive to establish itself as a mathematics academic exchange platform with a certain influence in central China, contributing to the development of mathematics in the region.
